Nursery Humidifiers |

Our homes today are often and of course, intentionally, kept dry. We all know that damp rooms are not a healthy place for a baby to sleep, but did you also know that if the room is to dry then it can cause just as many problems. The majority of us have central heating and double glazing. This means that our homes are dry and quiet. Radiators do not release any moisture in to the room (unless they are leaking of course!). This means that without any source of moisture and with tightly sealed windows the air in the room can be very dry.
Excessively dry air can lead to dry and sore throats in babies and then result in coughing. If the air is too dry then the mucus lining in the nose can become too dry and lead to winter colds and infections. If the air is too dry then baby's eyes can become equally dry and itchy.
But what can you do, you can't leave a window open, for a start its too cold in winter to do this and in summer it would just be an open invitation for insects to enter. The only solution is a nursery humdifier which releases a fine mist of water in to the air minimising all these issues without putting baby at risk. |
