This is a cat net to fit a pram or carrycot. It is important to use a cat protection net whenever you can when a baby is sleeping unattended. It may only be unattended for a moment but this is when cats will take the opportunity to jump up, particularly if they know that they are not supposed to. Cats are naturally curious animals, they like to squeeze in to cosy, warm places and also love to play. Most cats are not actively aggressive towards babies but they can scratch or bite during play. It is better to exclude the cat from the pram or carrycot rather than risk this.

 

Another good reason to keep cats from coming in to contact with baby is that although cats give the impression of being very clean animals with their constant cleaning activities there is still a strong possibility of bacteria and faeces being present on their feet. They may have just visited their litter tray and then taken the opportunity to jump up on to the pram or carrycot.

 

Of course there are also  ‘old wives’ tales of cats lying on babies and smothering them, now this is probably unlikely but a cat will curl up to sleep wherever it is comfortable and if this is with baby then it’s probably better to avoid the situation in the first place.

 

This strong mesh net is draped over the pram or carrycot with the hood raised. Elastic loops on the net are then attached to suitable convenient points to secure the net in place. This size is designed for use with medium sized soft bodied prams, combination prams and carrycots.
