Unlike a standard duvet a microfibre duvet is incredibly soft to the touch, Microfibre is used as it mimics the feel and touch of goose down, but at a much more affordable price. An equivalent goose down duvet can cost 10 times as much.
Microfibre as its name suggests is a very fine and soft man made fibre, it drapes incredibly well and has superb insulating properties, the fibre used in a standard duvet is usually referred to as hollowfibre which is thicker and coarser than microfibre.
As you can see from the images when you click on the link below the result is a beautuiful bright duvet that is thick and luxuriant yet smooth and soft to the touch, it seems almost a shame to hide it inside a duvet cover.
Be aware that some duvets that are referred to as microfibre only actually use a cover made from microfibre, the filling is often standard hollowfibre which will give you none of the benefits of the ’soft as down’ microfibre filling. This one has a soft 230 thread count dust mite proof microfibre cover with a genuine 100% microfibre filling.
Superb luxury at a realistic price.
Washable as synthetics
